I have grown up on a construction site and have always had a good hand in lead ever since I was 4 years old. I had worked with my father doing plumbing and by the time I was 13 years old I was a part time partner in his company, I further went to college and qualified in level 2 NVQ Plumbing and had carried a full-term apprenticeship, creating a portfolio. Once finishing my qualifications I became a full time partner in my father’s general building company which entailed doing, extensions, refurbs, plumbing and heating, kitchen & bathroom refurbishments, new builds, roofing and lead work. We ran the company together for a further 8 years on top of his 45 years of quality construction. Afterwards I have done my own jobs and have now recently created my own company B.J.T Construction, named after my 3 young boys a business that shows we are built upon family, integrity, quality and professional standards. I have experience in: Changing light fittings, Adding new fittings to new positions and running wires to the new position, Adding external lights and security lights, Pendant lights and downlighters, Moving switches, Adding switches to control lights from another point, Replacing on-the-wall sockets to flush fittings with the box inside the wall - both brick walls and plasterboard walls, Upgrading single sockets to double sockets, Moving and adding sockets, Adding outside sockets, Replacing extractor fans, Connecting cookers and hobs, And probably a few other things that I've forgotten! My qualifications include a diploma in electrical installations, along with the calculations required to ensure the installation is electrically safe, using the correct size wires for the size and load of the circuit. I have Part P, the part of the building regulations for electrical work, as it affects the structure of the building. This is to ensure wires are run through the best places to ensure that they don't affect the integrity of your building. I also have a level 2 Inspection and Testing certification, to ensure that the electrical work I've done is wired up correctly, and safe given the size of the wires and the circuit breaker in the consumer unit (also known as the fuse board).
