The job was posted on 22nd July 2025 and Wade Ellis of Ellis Roofing And Building Ltd responded 2 days later. After a survey, I received a quote on 26th July, which was accepted. A skip arrived on 29th July and the work commenced next day. The job was completed on 1st August. The bricklayer and his female trainee assistant got on with the job without any fuss, and they were very pleasant to deal with. The aim of the project has been delivered and I am very happy with the result. I recommend them. 5 stars!

As well as providing a very competitive quote they completed the works to budget and to a great timescale to get us the extension we needed before Christmas. Communication was positive throughout the job and the sharing of design ideas and their experience was essential to achieve the results we wanted. Not a good experience. Quoted £600 to replace 2 pieces of trellis, fix fence posts and do a general garden tidy up. In total he spent 1/2 a day on the job, so very expensive. The garden tidy was ok if cursory. The job on the trellis was unfortunately not adequate. The fence posts weren't secured, so it remained wobbly, leaning to one side, the trellis wasn't on straight and was split in some places by the screws he's used. Less than 3 months later the trellis fell down. He refused to refund for the labour.
